2000: HANS RUINEMANS JOINS NSA USA
In 2000, the seed from which PSA Holland would grow was planted: Hans Ruinemans became a member of the American National Speakers Organisation. He attended several conventions and noticed how more than 2,000 professional speakers can inspire each other.
2005: IFFPS TOP CONSULTATION
In the summer of 2005, the idea of a Dutch speakers' association took root. Former World Presidents of the International Federation For Professional Speakers IFFPS Paul Bridle and Naomi Rhode, accompanied by her husband Jim (former President of the NSA USA) met a number of Dutch colleagues in Amsterdam.
2006: THE FOUNDATION
Ultimately, Paul ter Wal was the one who watered the plant, so that the PSA Holland could start growing. His efforts led to the de facto founding of PSA Holland in 2006.
The inaugural meeting was attended by IFFPS World President Robyn Pearce. Internationally recognized voice coach Chris Davidson and international top speaker Frank Furness shared their knowledge about the profession. Many speakers would follow their lead.
2008: IFFPS FULL MEMBER DECLARATION
In March 2008, the last step was taken (for the time being): PSA Holland received the Full Member Association Declaration from the IFFPS, (during its very first international convention) with which we became a full member of the international speaker community.
Today the Professional Speakers Association Holland is a thriving and growing association. And the rest – as they so beautifully put it – is history…
